Valeene then served from 1970-1976 at OMS International’s world headquarters in World Intercessors, the OMS prayer fellowship, challenging others in new dimensions of prayer. After a two-year leave of absence, during which she was employed as dean of women at Vennard College, she returned to Haiti in 1978 as dorm mother to missionaries teenagers attending high school in Port-au-Prince.

Warren and Velma Hardig

Warren and Velma HardigMen For Missions Executive Director

In 1970 as a successful businessman and new Christian, Warren Hardig visited OMS mission work in the country of Haiti. On a mountain trail a Haitian beggar dropped to his knees, urging Warren to make him a Christian. This God-directed event became the catalyst for Warren’s missionary commitment. Convinced of lay-witness effectiveness, he left his business in 1973 to represent Men For Missions International, the laymen’s voice of OMS International.

As Central Regional Director, Warren coordinated this laymen’s movement over a fourteen-state area for more than eight years. Organizing laymen into councils, he then accompanied them for participation and observation of OMS mission projects in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
