Current Ministries in Taiwan

  • OMS partners with the Taiwan Holiness Church (THC), a mature church that is self-governing, self-supporting and self-propagating. The THC currently has just over 80 churches and hopes to increase to 150 churches by 2016. OMS seeks to help the THC fulfill its mission of being a purpose driven church in Taiwan by assigning missionaries in local churches to act as bridges into the local community. The goal is that missionaries through English and other skills will bring new people from the local community into the church.

  • Five cooperating missions, of whom OMS was one, founded Morrison Christian Academy, an outstanding school for missionary children, in Taichung in 1952. Currently four mission groups (OMS, Southern Baptist, Conservative Baptist, and TEAM) continue to govern the school and assume responsibility for the recruitment of faculty and staff. Presently the Morrison system has approximately 900 students in kindergarten through grade twelve and is widely acclaimed for its high standard of academic and spiritual excellence. Morrison Academy includes the main K-12 campus in Taichung, two K-9 campuses in Taipei and Kaohsiung and a K-5 two-room school in Chaiyi.

  • OMS partners with the Taiwan Holiness Church in the area of theological training at the Central Taiwan Theological Seminary located in Taichung. The seminary is governed by a board of trustees composed of four trustees from OMS and eleven trustees from the Taiwan Holiness Church. Financial support for the seminary comes primarily from local sources. OMS assigns missionary personnel to the faculty when qualified missionaries are available.
