Current Ministries in South Korea

The Korea Evangelical Holiness Church (KEHC), founded in 1907 and now celebrating it's 100th year, is the third largest denomination in South Korea. It now has the largest church and seminary in the OMS world today. The KEHC has nearly 2,700 churches and more than 4,000 students at Seoul Theological University.

Established in 1911, Seoul Theological University is a world-class Christian university located in the suburbs of Seoul. Over 4000 students are studying in the eight undergraduate majors, five graduate schools and continuing education programs at STU. OMS contributes to STU by providing faculty members and scholarship funds, as well as by providing an annual lecturer for the Cowman Lecture Series each fall.

Adventures in English (AIE) is an annual English camp for adults and teens to receive training in using English for ministry and missions. OMS recruits short-termers to come to Korea for 3 weeks each summer to teach in this program.

The KEHC Missionary Training Center exists to train KEHC missionary candidates before they go to the mission field. OMS contributes by providing lecturers to teach English, cross-cultural adaptation, and other courses at the MTC.

There are 15 Every Community for Christ teams in South Korea working with new churches in evangelism. This ECC ministry in Korea will transition to a new paradigm in 2008. Several KEHC missionaries and pastors also serve as shepherds and country coordinators for ECC in various countries.

OMS International and the Korea Evangelical Holiness Church (KEHC) made a partnership agreement in 1992 to cooperate in world missions. Yearly partnership meetings are held to discuss cooperative projects between OMS and KEHC.

We praise God for what He's done in 2008:

  • Decisions for Christ: 22,105
  • Baptism: 22,511
  • Attending: 557,508
  • People in discipleship or lay-leadership training: 10
  • Churches established: 327
