Haiti Prayer Requests

June 25- July 1

HAITI—Continue to pray for Sherry, the Haitian lady setting up the first set of 20 booklets in Creole for the new ECC program. God has answered your prayers, and she has not had that overwhelming tiredness since you prayed. She still has more work to finish, but is rejoicing in her renewed energy.

Pray for strength and stamina for Matt and Stacey Ayars, combining two weeks of deputation and two weeks of vacation with speaking at the OMS retreat. Pray that they will return well rested and prepared for their second teaching year at the Emmaus Biblical Seminary.

Ask that Brett and Angie Bundy and family enjoy a restful time with family. Pray especially for Brett and his involvement in Missionary Council.

Keep praying for the Lord to send a field treasurer to Haiti—they want His choice for the position.

Pray for honesty, integrity and stability for the Haitan government and for God’s people to look to Him for their every need.

Uplift the construction work at the Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Thank the Lord that Neil von Arb will soon arrive to help for the next four months. Pray for good health, strength and safety for all the workers on the site.

It is the hot and humid summer season. Pray for our missionary body left on the field for the summer to do the necessary work and find quiet places of rest to keep them going.

June 18-24th, 2008

HAITI—Praise the Lord for an excellent graduation for Emmaus Biblical Seminary. The students gave honor to the staff and teachers for being such a good example of the Lord Jesus in the way they handled all the difficulties during the year. Our God is at work in their lives.

Pray for unity for the staff at Bethesda Clinic and for opportunities to share the life-changing Word of the Lord with both patients and other staff members.

Pray for the missionary staff on the Haiti field. Some are leaving for the summer, and some are leaving permanently. Ask the Lord to provide willing workers to fill the gap. Pray for those who are funding to go to the field soon.

June 11-17, 2008

HAITI—Praise the Lord for the 50th anniversary celebration. Thank God for all that He has done through OMS in Haiti. On Sunday, they celebrated with the Emmaus Fellowship of Churches and all of the visitors.

Pray for unity of the Bethesda Medical Clinic staff, working together with the new staff of the AIDS Clinic. Pray as well for the construction of the new AIDS facilities to be completed soon; pray that the additional space will help with staff problems.

Keep the Haitian people lifted up in prayer. The high cost of everything is hurting many families and organizations. The daily numbers that go to the clinic has never been so low. May the Lord work in that country so that people will turn their eyes upon Him.

Summer is quickly approaching, and many are leaving. Pray for the missionary staff remaining to have good health, strength and stamina to carry on.

Construction is proceeding well at the new Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Ask for more work teams to go and help. They especially need skilled trades people.

June 4-10,2008

HAITI—Continue to pray for a new field treasurer for the Haiti field. They know that the Lord has someone special in mind.

Pray for Storly Michel, director of Radio 4VEH, going to Leamington, Ontario, to present the funding need for 4VEH.

Pray for strength and stamina for the construction workers of the new Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Summer is here, and there is still much work to do.

May 28- June 3, 2008

HAITI—Pray for the need for God’s best to fill the position of a field treasurer.

May God give direction and wisdom in making the right decisions for needed funding for the Bethesda Clinic and for Radio 4VEH.

Be in prayer for another container that left for Haiti from Greenwood with seminary construction materials, medical needs for the clinic, Bible and tracts for the ongoing outreach work. Pray that this container will not be held up on the docks, waiting for all the official paper work.

May 21-27, 2008

Praise the Lord for the work on Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Pray for work teams to come and help. Praise the Lord that the Haitian government papers were received to officially recognize the seminary.

Pray for the construction at Bethesda Medical Clinic. There is much work remaining. Continue to pray for unity with the staff as they work together with the new AIDS staff. Pray for Dr. Gavin McClintock, following leads for new clinic funding.

Uplift the 50th anniversary celebrations, taking place from May 22-27. To God be the glory, great things HE has done! Pray for the many Haitians joining OMS to praise and worship the Lord.

Remember the children who made the decision to become Christians. Pray for effective follow-up and training so that they will grow in grace.

Begin praying now for the latest container of building supplies to be sent to Haiti. The container left Greenwood, Indiana, this week loaded with tile for the dorm bathrooms for the new seminary. The teams going to Haiti to lay the tile hope the cargo is in Haiti by late summer. With government red tape, they never know how long the containers will sit on the dock.

Pray for the people of Haiti, continuing to face rising prices.

May 14-20, 2008

Pray that the Haitian people will trust God and look to Him for ALL their needs. They can’t do anything about the high costs, but they can turn to the great provider and sustainer!

Pray for the Bethesda Clinic and staff. Pray for unity and commitment to share the love of Jesus with the patients. Pray that they will have sufficient funds to meet the needs of all the patients. Pray for the completion of the new HIV/AIDS wing of the clinic.

Praise the Lord for the U.N. organization that is looking into a feeding program for more of the
Emmaus schools.

Praise the Lord for the construction of the new Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Work has started on the second floor of the men’s dorm. See progress on this website at http://leaders4lifehaiti.spaces.live.com/.
Praise God for the strength to continue!

This is the last session for the current year of the Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Pray for the students and their families. Pray that they will grow in grace and knowledge and that they will turn to God for all their needs. Pray for Bill Cooper, Pam Simpson, Will Chevalier and Matt Ayars as they finish teaching their courses.
