Uruguay Prayer Requests

Oct. 8-14th, 2008

URUGUAY—Pray for the Bible study ladies and their families. Many are going through tough situations in their families.

Pray for the preparations for the 30th anniversary celebration of Christ Church. Ask God that this celebration be a great witness to the community and that many will come inside and be a part of it.

Pray for many of this community that are sick, with some in the hospital with viruses and pneumonia.

October 1-7, 2008

URUGUAY—Praise for the many young people that came to the Christianity Explored series put on by three Irish women. They will finish this week. Also, uplift the young people that attended the youth service as a result of these women teaching English classes in a school across the street from the church.

Pray for the ladies in the “Art of Being a Woman” Bible studies. Many are going through difficult problems, but thankfully, they are seeking the answers from the Lord.

Uplift the preparations for the Christ Church 30th anniversary celebrations on October 25. Pray also for the open house garden party and, on November 9, a rededication service. They have many outside projects to get done before this happen—the garden, the patio and painting. Pray that many neighbors will attend. Most have no idea what goes on in this building nor have they been in it. The team wants this time to be inviting enough for them to return.

Sept 24-30, 2008

URUGUAY—Pray for the women who are in the Bible studies. Many are going through hard times with their marriages and kids. They are trying to believe and trust God but this is a new concept for them, and it’s not easy to do.

Pray for the teens and the “Connect” times they have every other Friday night. It is a safe place for them to go and have fun.

Christ Church is celebrating 30 years in the Carrasco neighborhood, yet many neighbors have no idea what goes on inside the building. Pray for the team as they plan this celebration and invite friends and neighbors; pray that they will attend and find a warm, inviting place and want to return regularly. They need Jesus in their lives.

Sept. 3-9, 2008

URUGUAY—Pray for the new English community that has arrived to find Christ Church. Pray that there will be Christians to help out with the many activities and to disciple small groups.

Continue to pray for Diana Vasquez who is better but still not totally well. Pray for financial provision for all of the team.

URUGUAY—Praise the Lord for the encouraging words of Rick Warren to the Uruguayan pastors and leaders. More than 1,500 attended, and there were other conferences throughout the week.

Pray for the short termers in Uruguay now and others who will go in the next month. Pray that they will find what God has for their future. Pray also for Gail Leroy and the team, providing tasks for them. Ask that they will sense fulfillment in their ministry.

Uplift the young people, taking on leadership roles and more responsibility; pray for their spiritual growth and realization that they are saved by grace, not works, nor by their own power to live out the Christian life.

Pray for Diana Vasquez who is on furlough in Colombia and not doing well physically.
