Ukraine Prayer Requests

Nov. 19-25, 2008

UKRAINE—Pray for a non-Christian couple from the church youth group who recently got married; pray that their marriage will be healthy and that they will each make a decision to follow Christ.

Nov. 12-18th, 2008

UKRAINE—One of the young Christian girls in the church was recently forbidden by her mother to continue attending services and any other church-related events. Ask God to soften the mother’s heart to allow her daughter to be involved. Pray for strength for this young girl, and ask that she will draw closer to Christ during this time.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for business English classes. Pray for wisdom and creativity as Debbie Nelson teaches, for more students to join the upper intermediate class and for students to see the relevance of the Bible to their lives.

November 5th- 11th, 2008

UKRAINE—Praise the Lord that several youth shared how they came to Christ at a recent youth group meeting. Pray for the youth who have not trusted in Jesus yet to make a decision to follow Him.

Praise the Lord for the openness of students at the advanced level English/Bible class. Pray that students will think about scripture during the week and apply it to their lives. Pray for students to trust in Jesus.

Oct . 29th- Nov. 4th

UKRAINE—Pray for wisdom and creativity for Debbie as she teaches business English. Praise the Lord that students are making English progress and bonding together in their groups. Continue praying for students to be open to the Bible and for more students to join the upper intermediate class.

Uplift the Nelsons’ upcoming Ukrainian registration process and visa renewal. Information about new foreigner registration laws is conflicting and unclear. Pray for clarification.

Oct. 22-28, 2008

UKRAINE—Praise the Lord for the four young people from the youth group who attended Sunday morning worship services the past few weeks. One of the girls commented that she felt like the pastor was speaking directly to her and her needs. Pray that these young people will grow strong in Christ.

Thanks for your continued prayers for the Friday advanced level English/Bible class. Pray for wisdom in planning the logistics of this large group and for students to trust in Jesus and be transformed.

Oct. 15-21

UKRAINE—Praise the Lord for the new youth group participant who received a Bible last week. He previously did not have a Bible of his own. Pray that he will have a hunger for Scripture and will trust Jesus as his personal Savior.

Pray for the couples in the International Partnerships (IP) Kiev church to have healthy, strong marriages. Pray that couples will follow biblical principles of marriage and be an example of Christ and the church to those around them.

Praise the Lord for the new contacts who attended English schools in four IP cities in Ukraine this past week. Pray for effective follow-up with students who attended. Pray that they will have continued interest in the Bible and trust Christ as their Savior.

Oct. 8-14th, 2008

UKRAINE—Praise the Lord for consistently good attendance at the International Partnerships Kiev church youth group. Participants range in age from 14-30. Pray for direction in choosing topics that are relevant for these varying ages and for wisdom to know how or if to divide the group.

Praise the Lord for the continued large turnout for the advanced level English/Bible class with 14 students attending last week, including 3 new people. Pray for creativity and wisdom with group logistics and that each student will experience God’s love and make the decision to follow Christ. Pray especially for three women who are struggling with difficult life circumstances, that they would not be bitter, but rather, open to God’s love and forgiveness.
