OMS UK Prayer Requests
March 3-9, 2010
UNITED KINGDOM—There will be a young adults’ weekend at Hebron Hall, South Wales, from March 19-21. Pray for the speaker, Chris Palmer, OMS regional director South Wales and West, visiting missionaries and the attendees to enjoy good fellowship and hear the voice of the Lord. Ask God to speak to all present and challenge them regarding service with OMS.
May 27-June 4, 2009
UNITED KINGDOM—Continue to pray for a replacement for Peter Marett (Data/Receipting at UK HQ). There has been some interest in his position; pray that a suitable person can be appointed soon.
Pray for the missionary candidates who are funding at present: the Reids, the Cossletts and the Kellys. Pray that God will bring people forward who will support them financially as well as partner with them in prayer.
The support accounts of many of the missionaries on mission fields at home and overseas are suffering from severe deficits. Pray for an urgent improvement in funding.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
April 29- May 6th, 2009
UNITED KINGDOM—Jon Ho has arrived safely in Colombia. Pray for him as he settles there and gets involved with the sports ministry and teaching English and music. Pray that he will pick up the Spanish language quickly.
Jenny Auld is planning to go to Ecuador this year with the eXtreme Walk program for one year; pray for further financial support.
Give thanks for the safe return to the U.K. of Mike Berkeley and Paul Bentley from an international youth conference in Germany where they represented OMS. A great deal of interest was shown from those attending. Pray for a good response in the way of new candidates from Europe to join OMS on mission fields.
April 8-14, 2009
UNITED KINGDOM— Pray for Michael Berkeley and Paul Bentley, traveling to Germany over Easter for Mission-Net. Organizers expect 6,000 young people between the ages of 18 and 24 and from all over Europe to gather for a missions conference. Pray specifically that they will meet and recruit key people to serve with OMS.
Pray for a replacement for Peter Marett, data/receipting at OMS UK headquarters. He planned to retired last July. It may be possible for him to work part-time in another mission society about a mile from his home starting in the summer, but he can’t do that until he is replaced at OMS.
Many missionaries, both on the mission field as well as on homeland assignment, are seriously underfunded. Pray for more support for them to enable them to continue their various ministries. Give thanks for slight increases for two families, following recent appeals.
January 21-27th, 2009
UNITED KINGDOM—The OMS UK Conference in Newcastle, Northern Ireland, is from February 27 to March 1. Pray for those who are organizing the event and for the speakers who will take part to have God’s guidance on what to share.
Rev. Bentley, Paul Bentley’s father was admitted to the hospital on January 7. He had various tests and was diagnosed with an intestinal obstruction, and surgery was needed. The surgeon was going to make the assessment to see if he was well enough for surgery. However, he deteriorated and died on January 11. Pray especially for Paul’s mother as she copes with the shock of the last few days and they all come to terms with their loss.
