Haiti Disaster Relief

On January 12, Tuesday afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m., a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the capital city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Its epicenter was 10 miles southwest of the city in the mountains.
News reports tell of the collapse of a hospital, the Hotel Montana and the National Palace, as well as damage to the U.N. peacekeeper compound and the Ministry of Finance.

The main OMS ministry center in Haiti is located in Cap Haitien, located 80 miles north of Port-au-Prince. We have received news from our team in Cap Haitien that, although shaken, our team is unharmed.

OMS has two ministry centers in Port-au-Prince: a church belonging to the OMS-related Fellowship of Emmaus Churches and a guest house known as “The Villa.” The status of both is unknown at this time. We'll keep you informed as information becomes available. Any donations can be sent to Project #405120 - Haiti Relief Fund

OMS International is taking donations for the Haiti Disaster Relief fund, #405120. Your assistance will help provide beans, rice, cooking oil and clean water. Some Haitians lost everything they owned and will need clothing. To help in this urgent relief effort, please donate today.
