Global Youth Ministries

Sara Sparks works in the Global Youth Ministries Department. Her passion is to see teenagers grow in their faith through discipleship. Sara disciples young girls in the local area and helps lead teams of teenagers on cross-cultural mission trips. “Our job in the Global Youth Ministries Department is to equip a generation of teenagers to carry out the role of the church around the world”.

Mission trips, serving in the local community, and God’s providential leading have guided and prepared her for this new direction in her life. She has been on several trips including Mexico, Bulgaria and Greece as a teenager and a young adult. She also served with Wheeler Mission Ministries for six years with inner city girls and boys. Her positions consisted of camp counselor, Bible study leader, tutor, and worship leader for the children.

Sara has always had a heart for children and young people. From her own experience she has seen the impact that investing her life in the life of a teenager can have. “A young woman came alongside me during the difficult diagnosis of a long term illness. She helped me deal with some very strong emotions and taught me that I should rely on God for everything.”

Sara, due to health problems beyond her control, was unable to begin college immediately following high school. In the Lord’s divine plan and infinite wisdom, He chose to heal her following surgery in 2001. Since then she has been attending IUPUI seeking an elementary education degree with an emphasis on special education. Sara attends school as well as being in full time ministry. “The Lord has given me good health and it would be foolish to not devote my life completely to Him. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!”

Sara is excited about the new opportunities and doors the Lord will open. It is her joy to serve the local and universal church in inspiring and reaching a generation of teenagers to reach the world for Christ.
