Norbi and Kelley Hegedus
Disciplers
Kelley MacLean Hegedüs first visited Hungary in May 1994 with a Men for Missions (MFM) team, which is the laymen’s voice of OMS International. She then spent several summers as a short-term missionary, working in English camps. Kelley’s long-term service with OMS began in September 2001, shortly after getting married to Norbert (Norbi) Hegedüs, her Hungarian husband.
Kelley first trained as a physical therapist at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and then spent two years working for a physical contract company in both Texas and Massachusetts. She then went back to university in Toronto where she received her teaching degree. She spent the next four years teaching grade one at an inner-city school in Toronto before moving to Hungary in 2001.
Her first assignment in Budapest was teaching English in a public elementary school until the birth of Samuel directed her attention elsewhere. Now, Kelley disciples young Hungarian women in groups and one-on one, as well as caring for Samuel. Norbi works as a logistics officer for the Hungarian border guard and is very active in their Budapest congregation. He leads a church Bible study on Sunday mornings and also helps lead worship at church.
