Michelle Westlake

Sister Connection

Michelle WestlakeMichelle Westlake is being seconded from OMS International to Sister Connection. Sister Connection is a ministry dedicated to the healing of war widows and orphans in Burundi, restoring their dignity and offering hope for their futures. It provides assistance through monthly sponsorships, building homes and special funding in emergency situations. Michelle is the first missionary for Sister Connection. She will serve as an executive assistant in the United States, working largely with the widow sponsorship project, but also traveling a couple times a year to Burundi.

Michelle was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana. She received Christ at a young age and has been blessed with a strong Christ-centered family. She attended Greenwood Christian Academy and graduated in 2004. She went on to study at Greenville College, where she attained a bachelor's degree in social work and minored in psychology.

Michelle met Denise Patch, the president of Sister Connection, at church in 2007 and began volunteering with the ministry. Since the ministry is still growing and Michelle is their first missionary, they decided to try to go under the umbrella of a larger organization, OMS. In March of 2009 Michelle was accepted as an OMS missionary and has been serving with Sister Connection.

The Lord has given Michelle a passion to serve the widows and orphans. Whether it is face–to-face interaction or administrative tasks, her desire is to make absolutely certain that these women and children know the love of Christ and have the opportunity for a personal relationship with Him.
