Marilyn SniderTwin Scholarship Endowment/Extended Missionary Service

Marilyn Snider served in Hong Kong with OMS International since 1966. She has recently transitioned from Hong Kong to the States and is now assisting in funding the Twin Scholarship Endowment Fund, Project 405122. This fund will provide scholarships for OMS related students in Hong Kong at the United Wesleyan Graduate Institute (UWGI) and Filipino students who worshipped at the OMS Filipino church in Hong Kong but have returned to Manila to study at the OMS affiliated Faith Bible College (FBC).

A native of Muncie, Indiana, she graduated from Ball Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and Ball State University in Muncie with a B. S. degree in nursing. She later attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where she sensed God’s leading to the mission field.

Following two years of language study, Marilyn worked as a nurse in an OMS clinic. Then for eight years she was involved in children’s ministries and taught English as a means of evangelism in the churches. After this she was the school nurse for United Christian College, a junior and senior high school. In addition to caring for students’ physical and spiritual needs, she taught Bible classes for English-speaking students.

These many years of varied service prepared her working these last years with the Hong Kong OMS Filipino Church in evangelism and discipleship. Several of the ladies in the church, sensed God calling them to go to Faith Bible College to prepare for the ministry. Marilyn believes God is leading her to help ladies like these with scholarships from the income earned on the endowed scholarship fund she is raising.
