Mel and Fran Noah
Field Leader/Discipler
Mel and Fran Noah have been missionaries in Brazil with OMS International since 1972. While providing field leadership to OMS missionaries, the Noahs have strived to build a stable Brazilian church through training and partnering in one-on-one relationships.
In addition to Mel’s vital role as field director, he has also served as a member of both the board and administration of the Londrina Bible Seminary where he teaches Bible full time and presently serves as seminary president. He served as interim pastor in an OMS church but now is in a support role to the young senior pastor. Mel currently serves on the Every Community for Christ committee and in the theological department of the seminary.
Fran teaches English part time in the Webb Idioms Christian Academy, works in couples’ ministry, helps plan marriage retreats in their local church, works with the seminary student scholarships coordinating the translation of reports and serves as prayer chairman.
Mel and Fran are both graduates of Asbury College and taught school in Lexington, Kentucky. Mel earned his master’s in religious education degree in Christian education in 1979 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, completed his master’s of divinity degree in 1985 and completed a doctor of missiology degree in 1999. The son of missionaries, Mel was raised in Angola and Zimbabwe, formerly Southern Rhodesia.
The Noahs have three adult children: married sons Chris and Neil, daughter Jennifer and three grandchildren.
