Lea Fontalvo

eXtreme Walk
With certainty in her heart of God’s call 16 years ago, Lea continues to follow Jesus, prays regularly and relies on the Holy Spirit, His Word and daily living with her family and local church to help form her spiritually. With her education and experiences in ministerial service helping her, she regularly shares among the lost and needy the powerful Gospel of salvation and restoration through Jesus Christ, who came to give us life in abundance.
Since 2000, Lea has been in missionary training, serving in various regions of Colombia with high-risk boys and girls and their families. She has also been training Sunday school teachers in Christian education. She has done this work under the Interamerican Church of Colombia. Currently, Lea is called to serve God in Central Asia as a missionary of the Interamerican Church of Colombia in partnership with OMS International in the eXtreme Walk program.
Lea is going to a country that is in the 10/40 window. Even though some say there is freedom of worship there, this is only on paper, not in practice. The culture is closed, which makes direct evangelism and celebrating a public church service difficult.
Lea’s purpose in going as a missionary is to be able to share the Gospel and help the boys and girls in poverty and other difficult situations. God loves the people of Central Asia, and Lea knows that it is His plan that the nationals come to know and follow Jesus. God wants to be glorified in this place.
