Joetta Lehman
Field Treasurer
“I always wanted to be a missionary, but….could God ever use me?” Joetta wanted to be a missionary from the time she met her first real missionary at age ten. She went on her first short-term mission trip to Haiti in 1977 and subsequently took several other mission trips there, once for two years. With each trip to Haiti, God dealt more intensely with her heart about full-time Christian service. After working in the corporate world for 15 years, Joetta left her secular career and became a missionary to Haiti in 1995.
Joetta is from Franklin, Pennsylvania. She was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as a young girl. She was very active in her local church. Joetta is appointed jointly by The Mission Society and OMS International.
During her ten years in Haiti, Joetta served as children’s ministry coordinator, field treasurer and later as administrator of the Bethesda Medical Clinic. In addition, she led chapel at Cowman International School and taught courses at Emmaus Biblical Seminary.
In 2006, Joetta transferred from the Haiti field to the OMS World Headquarters, working as administrative assistant to the executive director of International Ministries. There she served and enabled missionaries and nationals to fulfill the Great Commission.
In August 2009, Joetta returned to Haiti to serve as the Haiti field treasurer. This is a big job with all the many ministries in Haiti. She receives expense reports from the field missionaries, does payroll for all the ministries of OMS Haiti, makes sure the funds are available for reimbursable expenses and does data entry of the field finances for monthly transmittal to headquarters. Although this is a big job, Joetta will still have time for involvement in other ministries on the field. She continues to teach Christian education at Emmaus Biblical Seminary.
