Field Treasurer

Gwen Pinkerton has served as a missionary with OMS International since 1985. She has served in Ecuador (1985-1988), Brazil (1988-1991) and at OMS world headquarters in Indiana (1993-2003). Gwen has worked as a teacher for missionary kids (MKs) both in Ecuador and Brazil, a treasurer for the field of Brazil, and in various positions at the headquarters, including accounting and director of missionary services.

Gwen became the director of missionary services in August 2000. She helped missionaries on home ministry assignment and new candidates in the funding process. Working as a coach to encourage and prompt to action, Gwen was available to assist in answering many questions.

Gwen returned to Brazil in 2003 and has served as the field secretary/treasurer, assistant to the seminary executive director and on various committees. She also works with Every Community for Christ (ECC), OMS' evangelism and church planting ministry. Gwen is involved in one of the OMS churches, which in Brazil is called the Missionary Church.

Gwen earned degrees in missions and Bible from Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute in 1980 and Penn View Bible Institute in 1983. Before going to Ecuador, she taught in a Christian school in Tacoma, Washington, and at Penn View Bible Institute.

As part of her missionary internship at the Bible Institute, Gwen worked in Haiti for three months. She has taught Sunday school, conducted junior church, led singing, helped in vacation Bible schools, and coached for Bible quiz teams. Gwen also ministers to children in missions conferences.
