President/Women’s Ministries
David and Lori Long have been missionaries with OMS International since 1995, serving in East Asia. Their concern and love for the Chinese people intensified after they spent a month of teaching English and conducting Bible studies in Hong Kong in the summer of 1994.
The summer of 1995 they began working in East Asia with a local church teaching Bible studies and tutoring English students while learning the local language. In 1998, the Longs moved to another part of East Asia where David taught English to management level factory workers during the week. On the weekends, the whole family taught English classes and supported the local church.
After a year of home assignment, the Longs returned to Hong Kong for four years. David continued to preach on a regular basis in another part of East Asia as well as Hong Kong. He also helped establish the United Wesleyan Graduate Institute in Hong Kong. David taught New Testament Greek and Theology classes as well as served as the OMS Field Treasurer.
David and Lori worked together with a local church leading a university student Bible study and a Sunday school class. Lori also ministered through women’s Bible study classes and prayer ministry.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Murray State University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. As a member of the Fayette County and Kentucky Bar Associates, he practiced law for 15 years and served as an adjunct professor at Asbury College. Lori earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education from Asbury College.
Currently, David serves as the President of OMS International and Lori serves in Women’s Ministries at the International Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana.
The Longs have three children, Ben, Anna and Abby.
