Danny and Gerrilee Lacy

Danny and Gerrilee LacyCareer missionaries Danny and Gerrilee Lacy have served the Lord through OMS International since June 1977. Danny currently works in the Development Department for OMS. Together, he and Gerrilee energetically look for people who will minister to the needs of others through praying for, giving to or serving in missions.

Their teaching and nursing skills have benefited many around the globe. Woodstock School, located in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India, became their first assignment. Teaching elementary grades, supervising in dorms and assisting in rural medical outreaches filled their seven years of Indian service. Due to complicated medical situations that required a less rugged terrain and more accessible health facilities, they moved to Taichung, Taiwan, to serve at Morrison Academy. During their four years in Taiwan, they were involved not only at Morrison but also in the expatriate church, English evangelism and hospitality.

In 1990, they began ministering at Faith Academy in Manila, Philippines. For eight years, they served Filipinos. Along with unbelievable opportunities at Faith Academy, they were honored to work alongside a Filipino pastor to help plant a church. During the eight years in the Philippines, Gerrilee gained a great passion for cell church ministries and invested countless hours in training others and working alongside interns who were eager to learn.

Each summer, they travel to Beijing, China, to work with EESI (Educational Enrichment Services International) to give Chinese university students an opportunity to expand their conversational English proficiency.

A two-time graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Danny has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education. Gerrilee received her licensed practical nursing and pharmacology certificate from Ball Memorial Hospital. In May 2000, she completed her bachelor’s degree in family life education from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan.

The Lacys, who have three adult sons—Kip, Luke and Kirk—find missionary work fulfilling as they touch lives with the message of hope for a hurting world.
