BJ and Andrea Williamson

BJ and Andi WilliamsoneXtreme Walk Program

BJ and Andrea Williamson are serving in Ecuador as missionaries with OMS International. The Williamsons are involved in the eXtreme Walk program, a ministry that works alongside OMS’ Every Community for Christ (ECC), which is the major evangelism and church planting ministry of OMS. eXtreme Walk was just recently formed, with its first participants serving in Ecuador in 2004-2005. The Williamsons served alongside the national leadership of a growing church, Biblical Christian Restoration, in Salinas, Ecuador, learning to plant a church in Latin America. They experienced the joys and frustrations of planting a church together with national co-workers.

The Williamsons recently returned to Ecuador as sherpas (leaders) with new participants in the eXtreme Walk ministry. As sherpas, the Williamsons continue to work with an ECC church-planting team. They also have the responsibility of assisting the new “eXtreme Walkers” in ministry with encouragement, insight and direction.

BJ and Andrea both hold undergraduate degrees from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. BJ received his degree in Bible and theology and Andrea’s degree is in missiology. Both recognized God’s work in their lives and His leading them to mission work. During college, both participated in various mission-related works, including OMS mission house activities. The Williamsons recognized the OMS philosophy of ministry models that of Christ in scripture. Both have a strong calling to work in overseas missions, and they are obeying that call.

BJ joined OMS’ Men for Missions International short-term intercessory prayer team in 2003. This trip to the Caribbean was his first experience on an OMS field. While there, he began to understand the ministry of OMS International missionaries.

The Williamsons were married in October of 2003, and eight months later left for Ecuador with the eXtreme Walk ministry. They returned from Ecuador in May of 2005. The Williamsons welcomed their first child, Elijah in April 2006.
