Continued Partnership

OMS will continue to partner with the Japan Holiness Church (JHC) and Tokyo Biblical Seminary (TBS) in evangelism, church planting and leadership training. Many churches are actively seeking OMS assistance, and there are opportunities for evangelism through English, music and other forms of friendship evangelism.

Currently, there is a particular emphasis on youth evangelism, and the JHC has asked OMS to recruit missionaries to work with young Japanese pastors and lay people in this effort. The JHC has also requested OMS assistance in planting new churches, and there are opportunities for both career and short-term missionaries in this area.

OMS Japan actively partners with the JHC at TBS by providing teachers, maintenance personnel and administrative support to help train a new generation of pastors to reach the nation for Christ.

Short-Term Teams

OMS also recruits short-term teams, which have an important role to play in Japan

• Prayer teams regularly travel to different areas of the nation to ask the Lord to break down spiritual barriers and open the eyes of the Japanese people.
• Work teams provide valuable assistance to TBS and JHC churches and also encourage Japanese lay people to use their abilities in similar ways.
• Evangelism teams help churches reach out to their communities through music, sports, English and other means.
