Organization:

The school is owned and operated by OMS International (www.omsinternational.org), and is governed by a board. The school is administered by the Director, who is initially appointed by OMS, but is accountable to the board. He is responsible for both the Elementary Division and the Secondary Division. The school is affiliated with the Association of Christian Schools International. (www.ACSI.org)

Curriculum:

CAM offers a curriculum which integrates faith and learning in ways that enrich the students' lifestyle to include God as an integral part of all of life. Excellence in all areas is the goal. A variety of publishers is used to stimulate cognitive and affective learning, enhanced by teacher creativity. Enrichment materials and experiences are also included to help maximize the learner's God given potential. English fluency is required, although special classes in English are offered. The core consists of Bible, English, Math, Science, and History/Social Studies. Ancillary courses include Physical Education, Music, Art, Computers, and Portuguese Language. Students with extreme academic and/or emotional challenges cannot be accepted.

Faculty:

Qualified and experienced teachers come primarily from the United States, as well as South Africa, Canada, and other commonwealth countries. Parent volunteers supplement the professional staff. Career opportunities and Short Term teachers are always needed.

Enrollment:

Currently 57 students are enrolled. Our students come from the international community representing the countries of Brazil, South Africa, Congo, Canada, Portugal, Mozambique, Nigeria, India, Russia, and the USA.

Facilities:

A large building and hard-surfaced playground area provide a spacious learning environment for students. A 6000-plus-volume computer cataloged library supports the instructional program. The school computer lab is networked with broadband internet to provide increased opportunities for research. The school building is located at #3005 Av. 24 de Julho in Maputo, Mozambique.
